Aberdeen Roof Box Hire will, sadly, not be in full operation for Christmas 2025.

This is due to Ewan having undergone a vital operation, which, although successful, will require further recouperation and rehabilitation.  This will be looked at again in 4 weeks’ time in the hope that Ewan’s recovery is speedy and successful.

 

All going well, the owner Ewan Morgan will be back in 2026 and in all hope Aberdeen Roof Box Hire will continue as normal then.

 

All existing orders will be dealt with as per acknowledgements.  Mr Morgan or Mr Morgan’s family, will be involved in these fittings.

So 2026, where are you going? Usually the cost. or the fact it will only get used a couple of times a year, puts people off buying a roof box or roof tent.  At Aberdeen Roof Box Hire we have the answer to that need.  If you've got no room in the house to store one, you have no shed and you're budget is too tight for hotel fee's, fuel and your holiday spending allowance why not just hire a roof box.  That way, you and the family and even the pet dog can have a bit more space in the car and the box won't take up any space when you get back home.

The box/tent and Bars are all fully lockable and don't worry, you don't need to fit a thing, leave it us and when you're done, we'll take it all of for you.

Rental charges for the Roof Bars start from:-

Roof Bars are essential when it comes to attaching a Roof Box on top of a car.  There are however hundreds of different variations and fittings required to do this.  While we stock many fitments we do not have the full stock, this is why, even if you are considering going on holiday it is well  worth looking ahead to see if we stock the bars you require, if they are available, if they are stocked and if not, can the correct parts be ordered in time?  There can be variations on fitments, another very good reason to get in touch and there may be the possibility that we require to view your vehicle to be sure that the correct parts will be available and fit.  There may be other occasions where we cannot help at all in which case we can recommend an outlet to you that can.

**If there are indeed parts that will require to be ordered especially for your vehicle, a down payment of £30 will be required for the correct parts to be ordered up.  This is Non-Refundable unless it is proved that the fitments are unsuitable for the vehicle listed.  

CANCELLATION OF BOOKING  

As mentioned, if a Non-Standard part is required and has to be ordered in due to the part not being stocked, the £30 down payment required to order this part cannot be refunded unless the part does not fit.  If the customer wishes to cancel the order due to being unable to complete the trip, this £30 down payment will not be refunded as the part was specially ordered if for them.

If the order is cancelled and the equipment required was stock then there is no refund required as their was no deposit taken in the first place and would only be required on the day of hire.  

It's also important to note that if you wish to cancel to please let us know as soon as possible.  No cancellation fee is required for cancelling (You only lose the £30 down payment if equipment was bought in especially for your hire) and this then free's up the equipment for other users that may be left disappointed.  Please remember that giving as much notice to a holiday you may no longer be able to go on give someone else who may be struggling the chance to go instead.

I cannot relay strongly enough to please get in touch and check on availability on the bars as there has been on occasions where disappointed customers have left this to the last minute and sadly we have been unable to supply within the time-scale specified due to a part being required leaving them disappointed.

You can enquire about the availability for a box by telephone or E-Mail.  Give us the following details regarding your vehicle if you require bars, please feel free to copy and attach to your enquiry E-Mail:-

1. What type of vehicle do you have?
2. How old is the vehicle?
3. Is it a Hatcback/Saloon/Estate/4X4?
4. If it is an Estate or 4X4, do you have existing roof rails or flush rails on your roof running from the front to the rear of the roof, send a picture if unsure?
5. What is the registration number of the vehicle?  This can help to identify the vehicle?
6. Which Roof Box do you wish to hire, please also state the day you would like the equipment fitted and then also removed?
7. Your name, address, E-Mail address and contact telephone number?

If you have existing Roof Bars that's fine, you will then only require a Roof Box.  Once availability is confirmed we then take you cash payment upon collection of your Roof Box along with your £50 deposit which you receive back upon returning the box.

FITTING YOUR ROOF BOX

We will fit the Roof Box/bars for you in Altens, Aberdeen between Monday to Friday during the evenings as well as the weekend all day prior to an appointment being arranged first.  Aberdeen Roof Box Hire is a Part-Time concern so if calling during the daytime of the week please leave a message. Fitting the Roof Box/Bars is free.  Fitting can take between 5 to 30 minutes depending on what is required.

1) Cancellation.  There is no charge for cancellation.  We would however request that the Hirer does get in touch as soon as possible to inform us of a cancellation and more importantly in doing so, give someone else the chance to use the equipment rather than not saying anything at all.  Please note, if the hire requires a Non-Standard Bar, that being a roof bar requirement where the fitting fit is not stocked and therefore has to be ordered in with a £30 down-payment.  This will not be refunded unless it is proven at a trial fit or fitting day that the kit is incorrect for the vehicle listed.  

2)  Damage.  If the equipment suffers damage, loss or theft of the roof box. Aberdeen Roof Box Hire reserves the right to charge the hirer the full replacement cost of such equipment in the event that it becomes damaged, lost or stolen during the period of hire, or until it has been returned to them. The replacement costs are as follows: Roof Box £50.   Altering Equipment – Aberdeen Roof Box Hire equipment must not be altered in any way without the prior consent.

3)  Aberdeen Roof Box Hire does accept that there can be wear and tear can happen with the equipment, the hirer would not be charged with this, as an example scratches to the surface. 

4) Returning Equipment Late.  Where the Hirer does not return the equipment at the end of the hire period, Aberdeen Roof Box Hire reserves the right to keep the Hirer’s deposit.

5) When booking for hire, the hirer is requested to submit their name, their home address, their contact telephone number, the box type they wish to hire, state whether roof bars are required or not, the days and times they wish to hire the equipment (The times will be submitted upon the period of the quote).

6) Aberdeen Roof Box Hire accepts no liability for any charges levied by tour operators, airlines, or other organisations, for the carriage of equipment.

7) Deposits.
Aberdeen Roof Box Hire reserves the right to demand a deposit from any hirer at any time up to and including the Hirer collecting the equipment. The amount of the deposit is £50. Aberdeen Roof Box Hire reserves the right to refuse to hire equipment to any client with whom it does not wish to enter into a contractual relationship. Aberdeen Roof Box Hire reserves the right to cancel a contract at any time & without notice, whereupon it will refund to the hirer any monies paid. Following such a refund, no further liability will exist between the hirer & the Aberdeen Roof Box Hire.

8) Ferry Journey's.

It has come to Aberdeen Roof Box Hire's attention that one Ferry company operating services between the UK and Europe has recently attempted to charge one of our customers who had to cancel for her Skoda Kodiaq 4X4 due one Ferry Company wishing to then charge then an extra £231 pounds extra due to the height added for a roof box.  If travelling abroad via ferry, please ensure as the customer that you check that your ferry company is satisfied with the height of your vehicle with a roof box fitted on your roof before booking please.
